Most people think that to get any physical result it takes time, but when it comes to the stomach that is not true.<br />
Immediate gratification is what everyone wants.  When it comes to getting a flat stomach you can get immediate gratification by taking a few steps.  You do the following things today and tomorrow you will notice results.<br />
Posture<br />
One way to immediately flatten your stomach and look trimmer is to stand up straight.  Most people have horrible posture and they do not even notice it.  We adapt poor posture throughout life and it sticks.  Proper posture with your back straight, chest out and shoulders back will instantly make you look thinner.<br />
Try it and you will be surprised at the difference it makes.  Do not forget proper posture when you sit, too.  In the beginning it will probably take a lot of conscious effort but over time you will easily adapt to good posture.<br />
Eat the Right Foods<br />
Some foods you are eating may be hindering your ability to get a flat stomach.  You need to stop eating or drinking foods that cause you to retain water or feel bloated.  Stop consuming these things right now.  These things include any type of soda pop and anything that makes you feel gassy.  Gas and water retention is seen right in the stomach.<br />
Also eat five or six smaller meals.  This keeps your stomach from getting too full which will help keep it looking trim and flat.  It also keeps your metabolism up and burning away calories.<br />
Get Hydrated<br />
Drink a lot of water.  Water flushes your body of excess water while also making sure all your organs are working properly.  Water is a miracle drink.  Make sure you drink a lot of water after working out to replenish the water loss during the workout.  You should get eight glasses per day and more if you are working out.<br />
Water will keep off excess water retention.  It may seem odd, but it is true.  When your body feels dehydrated it seals in water, so when you are drinking enough water that water simply goes right through your system and the body does not feel the need to retain it. </p>

After several mornings of looking in the mirror and getting tired of seeing more then they would like they decide it is time to do something about it. Getting rid of that extra layer or that newly formed pooch becomes something of an obsession. Here&#8217;s the first hurdle that everyone who has thought about getting rid of that stomach bulge needs to jump over. There is a difference between thinking about doing something about it and actually doing something about it. People are born to procrastinate and this is no different when it comes to diet and exercise. If you are serious then you just need to get to work and do it.When a plan is finally formulated it usually looks something like this; you go on a diet of some kind and if you are really motivated embark on an exercise program. This makes sense because we all know that the fewer calories we take in the more fat we can lose. Add jogging a few times a week and some sit-up and before long that rebellious stomach will be put back in its place.Unfortunately the body doesn&#8217;t quite work this way. We all need a certain amount of calories in order for our body&#8217;s to function at an optimum level. If the caloric intake falls below this level the body will actually begin to store more fat because it thinks it&#8217;s in starvation mode. In fact a low calorie diet will cause the whole body metabolism to slow down.This does not mean that eating more is the answer to getting a flat stomach. Eating a healthy diet is the most important factor when it comes to caloric intake. By giving your body the nutrients it needs it will not only increase it metabolism but also mobilize it fat stores more efficiently which leads to a reduction in weight. Foods high in complex carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins and minerals are the way to go.The next portion of any stomach flattening endeavor is an exercise program. This can of course involve the normal abdominal exercises that everyone is familiar with; sit-ups, crunches, and the like but there is more to an exercise regimen then that. A flat stomach is nice but we have to think of the body overall.This is where resistance or weight training of some sort comes into play. Working all the major muscle groups not only shapes and tones the entire body but it creates a rise in metabolic rate which burns away even more calories. Your core muscles, which include your abdominals, are also worked during weight training because these are the muscles that stabilize the body during any form of activity.It is also important to incorporate some form of aerobic training into any exercise program. This can be anything from walking to an aerobics class. Aerobic exercise will not only burn extra calories it also strengthens the cardiovascular system, reducing the risk of heart disease and other conditions. </p>

And although i.b.s. is an unpleasant condition to live with it is often used as a blanket term to cover every single abdominal problem from constipation to diarrhea, heartburn, wind and flatulence to name but a few. </p>
<p>It must also be pointed out that abdominal bloating can sometimes be a symptom of serious illness, however once this option has been eliminated by the appropriate medical investigations sufferers should consider the possibility that the culprit may lie in the food they are eating.</p>
<p>So where do we start?</p>
<p>In today&#8217;s hectic world few of us have the time to devote to creating the plain wholesome food enjoyed by our  predecessors. We have come to rely on ready prepared meals and seasonings to provide our dietary needs. Unfortunately along with the ever growing list of convenience foods is the endless array of additives contained within the package.  Much has already been written about additives, e-numbers etc and their effects on our health and it is not the purpose of this site to investigate other problems or </p>
<p>symptoms which may be related to them. The sole problem  we are concerned with here is bloating and the possible causes of it.</p>
<p>For although in many people abdominal bloating and not having a flat stomach will be regarded as nothing more than an annoying inconvenience, rather like waking up with a nasty spot on your face on the day of an important interview for example.  For others it can be far more worrying. The abdomen may be completely flat first thing in the morning only to  become hugely distended throughout the course of the day. Some sufferers complain of looking pregnant by the evening and are often troubled by crippling painful cramps.</p>
<p>So what is the answer?</p>
<p>Well in most cases, just a few basic modifications to the diet are all that is required to get a flat stomach. Of course most of us are already aware that certain types of food are known to cause excess gas, for example: onions; broccoli; cabbage and beans etc but how often have you avoided these foods and still found your stomach swelling and your clothes pulling uncomfortably tight?  You may have also tried other popular remedies such as peppermint tea and charcoal tablets which may help to ease the cramps but somehow never seem able to get to the root of the problem.  So that leads us to the question about other possible causes of abdominal bloating and particularly the role of additives in our food.</p>
<p>But why should additives cause bloating?</p>
<p>Quite possibly because our systems are simply getting overloaded by them.  Unlike the diets followed by our parents and grandparents, convenience foods play an enormous role in the lifestyle of today&#8217;s generation.  In years gone by meals were far simpler and usually prepared using fresh produce.  </p>
<p>Nowadays we are more likely to buy a pack of ready battered fish rather than whisking together the ingredients to make our own. Spaghetti Bolognese will probably be made with the assistance of a packet or jar of ready prepared sauce instead of blending the herbs ourselves.  Even salads can be bought pre-packed with little sachets of dressings included.  The corner shops and market places that were so prevalent a few decades ago have been overtaken by super stores with a massive range of mouth watering convenience food and drinks. It&#8217;s no wonder our meal choices have changed completely.  So it&#8217;s probably fair to say that it isn&#8217;t necessarily the additives themselves which are the problem, it is the sheer quantity in which they are consumed that often causes the symptoms.  You could therefore argue that to prevent abdominal bloating all you need to do is follow a strict diet using only natural ingredients. That may well work for you, however in reality it would probably make more sense not to reject all convenience foods altogether.  Not only would that be impractical for many people, in most cases it is also unnecessary.  As far as abdominal bloating is concerned we need only control the ingredient that causes the problem.</p>

<p> 1. I recommend you get a Pilates DVD. Pilates are a very good exercise and highly recommended by myself. Pilates concentrates on your core, in other words your stomach area. There are lots of DVD&#8217;s on the market. Stick to the recommended ones. </p>
<p> 2. Add lots of fiber to your diet. Keep away from those nasty carbs like cakes, biscuits, etc. Lots of fiber will help your digestion and keep you nice and regular, which will stop that horrible feeling of a bloated stomach. </p>
<p> 3. Increase your intake of Protein. If you fancy a snack eat some almond or pumpkin seeds. Increase white meats like chicken. Protein&#8217;s are great for building muscle, and will aid your plan for a flat stomach in a week, if that&#8217;s possible! </p>
<p> 4. Drink plenty of water. You should be drinking around 8 to 10 glasses of water each day. Keep hydrated, its not good to be dehydrated. It will also help digestion and keep you regular. </p>
<p> 5. Keep those crunches up! Work that stomach sensibly, but please don&#8217;t over do it! If you feel your stomach hurts a lot the next day lay off the exercises that day. After a week your stomach wont hurt so much as your stomach muscles begin to get used to the work out! </p>

<p>1. Try to change to skimmed milk instead of full fat. Remember small changes can make a big overall difference when it comes to achieving that flat stomach quickly. </p>
<p>2. Stop eating within a few ours of your bedtime. Having food set in your belly overnight tends to just slow your metabolic rate. To burn that food and fat you have eaten, you need to be exercising not sleeping! That food in your stomach will just turn to excess pounds overnight, not what you want. </p>
<p>3. Purchase a recommended home exercise DVD for those rainy and cold days you don&#8217;t fancy leaving the house. You should not stop your flat stomach program because of the weather! </p>
<p>4. Add fiber to your diet. Cut out those carbs like sticky cakes and chocolate biscuits. Potatoes are included in this and chips! Eating more fiber will make you more regular, and increase your digestion. Better digestion means no more sluggish feelings in your stomach. </p>
<p>5. Instead of snaking on chocolate bars substitute these for handfuls of, nuts and other seeds. Explore your local health shop for more information. Experiment see what you like and don&#8217;t like. There is so much on the market these days i bet you will find something you like. </p>

<p>The first thing you should do if you want to lose body fat and firm your stomach is eat a healthy breakfast.  Breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it can set up your body to burn fat throughout the entire day.  Your body needs nutrients to burn fat, so by eating a healthy and nutritious breakfast you are setting up your body to be efficient throughout the day.</p>
<p>The second thing you must do to have a healthy metabolism is drink plenty of water.  Every metabolic process in your body uses water.  Most people are chronically dehydrated, and without adequate hydration levels your body cannot burn body fat at maximum efficiency.  Another benefit of drinking more water is less calories from other beverages.  By replacing sugar laden drinks with water, you can decrease the negative impact of sugar, calories, and chemicals and increase the positive effect of consuming more water.</p>
<p>The third flat stomach tip is to include cardiovascular or aerobic exercise in your fitness routine.  Cardio burns tons of calories and if you want to get a flat stomach you should do a minimum of 30 minutes of aerobic exercises 3 times a week.  Walking is a great form of aerobic exercise, and it&#8217;s a great place to start for someone beginning an exercise program.</p>
<p>The fourth tip to get a flat stomach is to include some weight training in your weekly fitness routine.  Weight training has different benefits when compared to aerobic exercise.  Even light weight lifting can increase your metabolism for hours after you&#8217;ve stopped exercising.  In addition, weight training can also help your body become more sensitive to insulin.  When your body becomes more sensitive to insulin, you digest and process sugar and carbohydrates more efficiently which is helpful in losing weight and maintaining weight loss.</p>
<p>As both men and women age, they lose lean muscle tissue, and this slows down the metabolism and can cause weight gain, especially around the mid-section.  By weight training on a regular basis a minimum of 2 times per week, you can add lean tissue to tone your muscles, build your muscles, and speed up your metabolism.</p>
<p>The fifth tip to help you get a flat stomach is to get a full night of sleep.  There have been multiple studies about a lack of sleep and the stress hormone cortisol.  Elevated cortisol levels can cause your body to hold onto unwanted belly fat and make it difficult lose excess stomach fat.  Getting a full night&#8217;s sleep gives your body time to recover from the stressors of everyday life and will improve your chances at making weight loss progress.</p>
<p>The 5 tips are simple, but they can make a big impact and help you live a healthier life.  If you want to get a flat stomach try to eat a healthy breakfast, drink plenty of water, perform aerobic exercise and weight training on a regular basis, and get plenty of sleep.</p>
