It’s a common misconception that the best way to lose weight fast is through starvation but the fact is by not eating enough you will put yourself into a sort of “starvation mode” which will dramatically slow down your metabolism and ultimately slow down your weight loss. It also has the unfortunate effect of making you feel like crap. On top of that, when you finally start eating again you are likely to gain back any weight you lost (with interest.) If you want to lose weight fast then you must avoid any of those dumb starvation diets such as The Apple Cider Vinegar Diet and you definitely do not want to get into using diet pills as a crutch instead you want to choose The Day Off Diet which allows you to lose weight quickly without slowing down your metabolism.

In the first place you will rarely see an A-list celebrity without a flat stomach. To begin with very few A-list celebrities allow themselves to become grossly overweight. Flashing paparazzi cameras and regular exposure in weekly celebrity magazines eagerly competing for the most unflattering photo shots available are usually enough to keep most celebrities on their toes. Nevertheless even the most disciplined celebrity is only human. They suffer the same insecurities as the rest of us. They wake up in the morning with annoying spots on their faces, they have days when their hair is uncontrollable they also suffer bloating, stomach cramps and bouts of embarrassing gas/wind like everyone else. And they don’t all naturally have super flat stomachs either.

I’m sure you’re familiar with the feeling. You desperately want to wear that slinky little dress or those figure hugging tight pants but although you have a flat stomach in the morning and they fit you perfectly, by evening they are pulling tight and your stomach is sticking out making you feel fat and frumpy. The reality is, you’re neither fat nor frumpy. Like many people you are suffering from bloating. An extremely common, uncomfortable and at times, distressing complaint. So what else can be done. The easiest and most successful way is to follow an elimination diet to find out what it is in your diet that’s causing your bloating.

The Flat Stomach Diet

January 17, 2010 by richbenn

Are you struggling to get a flat stomach?

Do the clothes that fit you in the morning feel stretched and tight by evening?

Does your tummy feel heavy and bloated even after small meals?

Have you tried every pill, potion and diet on the market only to find that despite losing weight your stomach still remains swollen?

IF THE ANSWER TO THESE QUESTIONS IS YES, TAKE COMFORT IN THE FACT YOU ARE NOT ALONE

Abdominal bloating is not simply an inconvenience. For those who suffer from it, it can be extremely distressing and at times incapacitating. Quite often it is not taken seriously by medical professionals and dismissed as something that merely has to be endured rather than treated and cured.

Wanting a flat stomach is not always a simple matter of vanity. Abdominal bloating can be painful and embarrassing. When your stomach is constantly severely bloated it can undermine your confidence as well as your health.

But how often have you spoken to your doctor about your digestive disorders only for it to be diagnosed as just another case of i.b.s (irritable bowel syndrome) and offered no real solution to the problem? And although i.b.s. is an unpleasant condition to live with it is often used as a blanket term to cover every single abdominal problem from constipation to diarrhea, heartburn, wind and flatulence to name but a few.

It must also be pointed out that abdominal bloating can sometimes be a symptom of serious illness, however once this option has been eliminated by the appropriate medical investigations sufferers should consider the possibility that the culprit may lie in the food they are eating.

So where do we start?

In today’s hectic world few of us have the time to devote to creating the plain wholesome food enjoyed by our predecessors. We have come to rely on ready prepared meals and seasonings to provide our dietary needs. Unfortunately along with the ever growing list of convenience foods is the endless array of additives contained within the package. Much has already been written about additives, e-numbers etc and their effects on our health and it is not the purpose of this site to investigate other problems or

symptoms which may be related to them. The sole problem we are concerned with here is bloating and the possible causes of it.

For although in many people abdominal bloating and not having a flat stomach will be regarded as nothing more than an annoying inconvenience, rather like waking up with a nasty spot on your face on the day of an important interview for example. For others it can be far more worrying. The abdomen may be completely flat first thing in the morning only to become hugely distended throughout the course of the day. Some sufferers complain of looking pregnant by the evening and are often troubled by crippling painful cramps.

So what is the answer?

Well in most cases, just a few basic modifications to the diet are all that is required to get a flat stomach. Of course most of us are already aware that certain types of food are known to cause excess gas, for example: onions; broccoli; cabbage and beans etc but how often have you avoided these foods and still found your stomach swelling and your clothes pulling uncomfortably tight? You may have also tried other popular remedies such as peppermint tea and charcoal tablets which may help to ease the cramps but somehow never seem able to get to the root of the problem. So that leads us to the question about other possible causes of abdominal bloating and particularly the role of additives in our food.

But why should additives cause bloating?

Quite possibly because our systems are simply getting overloaded by them. Unlike the diets followed by our parents and grandparents, convenience foods play an enormous role in the lifestyle of today’s generation. In years gone by meals were far simpler and usually prepared using fresh produce.

Nowadays we are more likely to buy a pack of ready battered fish rather than whisking together the ingredients to make our own. Spaghetti Bolognese will probably be made with the assistance of a packet or jar of ready prepared sauce instead of blending the herbs ourselves. Even salads can be bought pre-packed with little sachets of dressings included. The corner shops and market places that were so prevalent a few decades ago have been overtaken by super stores with a massive range of mouth watering convenience food and drinks. It’s no wonder our meal choices have changed completely. So it’s probably fair to say that it isn’t necessarily the additives themselves which are the problem, it is the sheer quantity in which they are consumed that often causes the symptoms. You could therefore argue that to prevent abdominal bloating all you need to do is follow a strict diet using only natural ingredients. That may well work for you, however in reality it would probably make more sense not to reject all convenience foods altogether. Not only would that be impractical for many people, in most cases it is also unnecessary. As far as abdominal bloating is concerned we need only control the ingredient that causes the problem.

So how do we know which ingredient causes bloating?

Quite simply by a process of elimination.

The Flat Stomach Diet is a tried and tested plan that has been proven to reduce abdominal bloating by literally removing ONE SINGLE INGREDIENT from the diet. You can expect to see results in as little as 3-5 days and once you have learned how to control your intake of this ingredient you will be able to control your bloating PERMANENTLY and completely naturally without the use of drugs or any other type of medication.

If you wear a size 14 and you blow a bundle on designer size 8 dresses as motivation, you will probably end up feeling guilty, frustrated, and angry if you are not slinking around in it a month later.

In reality, you will do much better setting smaller, achievable targets for yourself. If you must try the new-clothes strategy, go down a size at a time, and do not buy anything you have to take out a second mortgage to pay for.

Because, if you continue to remorse on losing weight fast, you will end up incorporating fad diets or those that offer quick weight loss.

For most people who are not aware of this fact, there are no such things as quick weight loss diets and there is no nippy weight loss for people who want to be slimmer than what their body can provide.

The problem with most people is that they tend to opt for nippy fixes wherein fact these things are not effective at all.

What Does Not Work

Today, there are plenty of weight-loss strategies that are guaranteed to backfire. This is because these nippy fixes instilled on certain diet plans are, in reality, not efficient because it does not employ the right principle and the right attitude in losing weight.

These quick weight loss diet plans are known as fad diets because that is exactly what they are, just a fad. In time, when fashion is over and popularity wanes down, people will realize that the diet they have depended on is not reliable at all.

To know more about these fad diets that are selling like hotcakes in the market today, here is a list of some telltale signs that would tell you not to try it even once.

Here they are:

1. Skipping meals

Does your diet plan require you to skip meals? If it does, then, it is a fad diet.

Abstain from food completely is not a healthy habit. It may even cause some serious complications or problems especially for people who are sick with diabetes.

Skipping meals will only cause a hypoglycemia, or the condition wherein your blood sugar is really low, and will probably only be effective in making you eat twice as much at the next meal.

2. Dieting without exercise, or vice versa

Exercise is crucial to the human body. It is important in the proper blood circulation and other activities of the human body system.

Therefore, diet plans that do not require you to exercise are nuisances. People are born to move.

But then again, exercise alone is not sufficient. Hence, it would be better if diet and exercise will go hand-in-hand.

3. Continuous dawdling

There is no better time to start losing weight. If you want to really lose those excess fats, you have to lose weight now.

Delaying tactics will not get you anywhere and will only make the problem worse. So, if your diet plan suggests a certain timeframe for you start losing weight, chances are, you are following the trend of fad diets.

Boiled down, it is best to rely more on the way you feel than the tale of the tape. This means that if the weighing scale tells you that you are losing weight even if it is slower than you would like, but you are feeling energetic and positive about your weight-loss efforts, then, you are just doing fine.

As mentioned and is worth mentioning all over again, weight loss is not a quick process.
