You can make this exercise work harder for you by placing yourself across the bench, rather than along it as previously described.The lats will get an extra workout using this method. Be aware that you are risking more the more you stretch, so be sure not to choose too heavy a weight.Doing the DB row is another drill that can be done to work your back.

Begin by doing the elementary row by placing one of your hands and one of your knees from the same size on the bench.Begin with full extension of the arm that holds the weight.Move the dumbbell to the hip as you keep the arm in. You can change this around into outward rowing so that your hand faces the feet. This position will make the rowing more difficult. The extra calories burned by your back will pave the way to rapid weight loss.
